Conferencia 500
10am – 5pm, October 28, 2017
Faith Church – Main Sanctuary

On October 28, 2017 the Spanish speaking churches of Converge Rocky Mountain will be hosting a biblical conference called Conferencia 500. As far as we know this will be the first time ever that a conference of this type will be held in Spanish. The conference will be a celebration of the 500 year anniversary of a movement that not only changed Christianity, but it also changed the world.
“Post Tenebras Lux” is a Latin term that means, “After Darkness Light”. This became the motto of the Reformation that started on October 31, 1517. It accurately captures the state of religion during that time, and the state of man’s hope in that religion. That is why there needed to be a reform, a return to what Scripture clearly taught. A reform from the man-made traditions that enslaved the whole world. From this reformation there emerged 5 pillars that would liberate men, serve as a guide to those that followed, and serve as anchors to our faith today.
• Sola Fide – we are saved through faith alone
• Sola Gratia – we are saved by grace alone
• Sola Scritura – the scriptures alone are our ultimate authority
• Solus Cristus – through Christ’s work alone
• Soli Deo Gloria – for the glory of God alone
Conferencia 500 will teach on each of these solas, why they are just as important today as they were 500 years ago.
Pastor Juan asks that we as a church, unite in fasting and prayer for this conference. Starting last Sunday, LHBC members in Spanish and English have started 40 days of fasting and prayer. The 40 days will conclude exactly one day before the conference! If you would like to participate in this time of fasting and prayer please contact Pastor Romero or Sister Belkis. The purpose of the 40 day fast is for God to receive all of the glory, and that this conference will be used to once again call His church to a reform.

From the Pastor's Desk.....

                          "Encouragement"

Please continue to pray for our building project. The projected start date was moved from August 7th to August 14th.

Continue to drive by and look at YOUR property. You are guardians of this property. If you see anything that looks amiss, i.e., fence down or trash or gates unlocked or anything that looks out of place, please call the church office.

It’s Time Living Hope Bible Church to build our 1st permanent church home. ARE YOU ALL IN??

Stay up to date on your commitments and giving.

If you are able to give more of your commitment sooner than later, that will be great.

GOD IS MAKING A WAY –
Nehemiah 2:17-18, 17 Then I said to them, "You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace." 18I also told them about the gracious hand of my God on me and what the king had said to me. They replied, "Let us start rebuilding." So they began this good work.

Message from the Pastor

COUNTING THE COST
"Having Your Discipleship Tested"

Following Jesus is not an easy task. Constant battles between what self desires and what Christ requires rage in our spiritual life. The discipline of walking by faith and not by sight demands daily maintenance. We experience great moments of triumph through obedience, faith and trusting God. Our joy is sometimes eclipsed by deep and wide valleys of defeat, introduced to us through disobedience and/or doubting our Lord. Isn’t it a blessing to serve a God who, in the very middle of triumph and defeat, gives us His peace which passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7)? Each time we are tested in life, this profound question beckons to us desiring an answer "are you counting the cost"?" When you struggle with a commitment that you’ve made to God, are you counting the cost? Counting the cost involves living within the peace of God (not worrying about anything) Philippians 4:6 and operating above the past, present, and future circumstances. Counting the cost means gazing at God and glancing at the circumstances. Circumstances will come and go but the peace of God, which passes all understanding is available always through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Yours in Christ,
