COUNTING THE COST
"Having Your Discipleship Tested"
Following Jesus is not an easy task. Constant
battles between what self desires and what
Christ requires rage in our spiritual life. The
discipline of walking by faith and not by sight
demands daily maintenance. We experience great
moments of triumph through obedience, faith and
trust in God. Our joy is sometimes eclipsed by
deep and wide valleys of defeat, introduced to
us through disobedience and/or doubting our
Lord. Isn't it a blessing to serve a God, who is
in the very middle of triumph and defeat, gives
us peace of God that passes all understanding
(Philippians 4:7)? Each time we are tested in
life, this profound question beckons to us
desiring an answer; Are you Counting The Cost?
When you struggle with a commitment that you've
made to God, Are You Counting The Cost? When
your hopes and dreams are not materializing as
you desire, Are You Counting The Cost? Counting
the cost involves living within the peace of God
(not worrying about) Anything Philippians 4:6
and operating above the past, present, and
future circumstances. Counting the costs means
gazing at God and glancing at the circumstances.
Circumstances will come and go but the peace of
God, which passeth all understanding is
available always through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Robin D. Holland
