Excerpt for Transparent Living:

Unfortunately, what we often omit from our busy schedule is the one thing that will give us strength and ability to make wise decisions: daily quiet time with God.  After all, we must turn in our school work, we must attend class, and we must show up for work.  But no one knows if we have a daily quiet time.

Maintaining integrity in daily living is difficult.  Temptations abound.  Time pressures are fierce.  Many people demand something from us.  Now I know the key to maintaining personal integrity in daily living is having a daily quiet time with God.

Jeremiah 29:12-13 promises, "Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jesus' life was characterized by earnest devotion to the Father as evidenced by His commitment to arise early in the morning to pray (Mark 1:35).  The Son of God realized that even He needed daily fellowship alone with God, and it was a top priority.  Now if Jesus Christ needed this time with God, isn't obvious that we need it as well?
